Brasserie de l'Ecurie

descriptive

La Poudrerie de Luxembourg has entrusted Tom Simon Architectes with a new project located on their historic site in Kockelscheuer, close to Luxite Park, high-tech site in full development. This is a substantial renovation of the old stables transformed into a unique brasserie-restaurant. In a sustainable and aesthetic perspective, the architects and the client were keen to preserve and enhance as many elements of the existing as possible ; the vaulted ceilings and the metal pillars of the main part or the openings of the facades of the time transformed into generous bay windows. Other volumes have been widely opened and reorganized in order to optimize the use of rooms. The primary premises of the time are dedicated to the noble pieces of the brewery, such as dining rooms, the bar and the reception. The serving rooms of yesteryear include the kitchen, storage and sanitary facilities. The metal staircase, one of the key elements, serves the first floor and the mezzanine and reveals spectacular perspectives. The brasserie is spread over two floors offering more intimate spaces such as a niche bathed in soft light or the very pleasant bar on the ground floor.. While other spaces can accommodate large tables. Once the large bay windows on the ground floor are open, the terrace and the interior space blend harmoniously.
