The Yacht

descriptive

The project "favorite" was born during an informal meeting with this couple of globetrotters. At the time, Mary and Patrick who had just acquired it ashore in Luxembourg-Belair, were looking for an architect who not only had the task of renovating their apartment, but that was to completely rethink the lines and bring real change to this architectural substance years 60.

Not only, this preserved in its original state no longer met the standards in terms of energy savings or electric system, but it had all the inconveniences of the time of construction as including the presence of asbestos in the vinyl flooring, dilapidated pipes not to mention the indoor poorly designed architecture.

Given the condition of the apartment, it was clear to me and my team a background clearing in height was put. In an aim to exploit the volumes to their maximum potential, whether in technical or from an architectural point of view, we were inspired by naval architecture and especially that of yachts. Besides the choice of the apartment The Yacht's name is the fruit of this joint reflection. From the beginning, our customers were in tune with our ideas and we have quickly placed their trust.

Firstly, to structure new volumes and optimize storage space, we thought defined by a specific design of trim items tailored to suit the parts perfectly. These structures have replaced several walls demolished thereafter.

The best reward is in my eyes the recognition of the efforts and satisfaction in us by our customers. Regularly they contact me to invite me to a drink or dinner. special moments that I love and in which they do not miss an opportunity for me to share their experiences in their new living.
